Call to Artists

Overview

The Majestic Theater in West Springfield, MA, is excited to announce a call for artists to submit their work for display in our café gallery for the 2026-2027 season. We invite local artists to create and submit works inspired by our upcoming season’s plays: Nunsense, Lend Me A Tenor, Eureka Day, The Price, and

Theme

We encourage artists to explore the themes, characters, and emotions of these productions in their work. Whether through painting, photography, or mixed media, we are looking for pieces that resonate with the stories told on stage. Sorry, no sculptors at this time. 

• Eligibility: Open to all local artists residing in and around West Springfield, Northern Connecticut, and Southern Vermont.

• How to Submit:

  • Please fill out the form below and upload 3-4 examples of your artwork.

  • Also provide brief artist statement (150 words max) explaining how your work connects to one of the featured plays.

• Selection Process: Selected works will be chosen based on quality, creativity, and relevance to the themes and/or atmospheres of the plays. 

Exhibition Dates

• Nunsense: September 3–October 11, 2026

• Lend Me A Tenor: October 22–November 29, 2026

• Eureka Day: January 7–February 14, 2027

• The Price: February 25–April 4, 2027

• West Side Story: April 15–May 30, 2027

Display Information

• Artists are responsible for framing, delivering, and hanging their artwork to the Majestic Theater. (They are also responsible for removal.)

• All works must be ready to hang using wire and a standard picture hook. 

• There are no restrictions on dimensions. However, we suggest a height no more than 42 inches. 

• Artists must provide pricing, descriptions, and promotional information. 

• The Majestic uses a picture hanging rail system that can hold up to 55lbs per 3 feet with each hook having a weight limit of 10lbs.  

Additional Information

• Artists will receive promotion through the Majestic Theater’s marketing materials. 

• The Majestic Theater will provide artists with a reception. 

• Artists must carry their own liability insurance. 

• There is a 25% commission on all sales. 

• Classes and collectives are welcome to submit
