Call to Artists

Overview 

The Majestic Theater in West Springfield, MA, is excited to announce a call for artists to submit their work for display in our café gallery for the 2025-2026 season. We invite local artists to create and submit works inspired by our upcoming season’s plays: Once, Steel Magnolias, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Dear Jack Dear Louise, Come From Away

Theme 

We encourage artists to explore the themes, characters, and emotions of these productions in their work. Whether through painting, photography, or mixed media, we are looking for pieces that resonate with the stories told on stage. Sorry, no sculptors at this time. 

• Eligibility: Open to all local artists residing in and around West Springfield, Northern Connecticut, and Southern Vermont.

• Submission Deadline: August 1, 2025

• How to Submit: 

• Please fill out the form below and upload 3-4 examples of your artwork.

• Also provide brief artist statement (150 words max) explaining how your work connects to one of the featured plays.

• Selection Process: Selected works will be chosen based on quality, creativity, and relevance to the themes and/or atmospheres of the plays. 

Exhibition Dates

• Once: September 3- October 19 

• Steel Magnolias: October 22- November 30

• The Hound of the Baskervilles: January 7-February 15

• Dear Jack Dear Louise: February 25- April 4

• Come From Away: April 15- May 31

Display Information

• Artists are responsible for framing, delivering, and hanging their artwork to the Majestic Theater. 
  (They are also responsible for removal.) 

• All works must be ready to hang using wire and a standard picture hook. 

• There are no restrictions on dimensions. However, we suggest a height no more than 42 inches. 

• Artists must provide pricing, descriptions, and promotional information. 

Additional Information

• Artists will receive promotion through the Majestic Theater’s marketing materials. 

• The Majestic Theater will provide artists with a reception. 

• Artists must carry their own liability insurance. 

• There is a 20% commision on all sales. 

• Classes and collectives are welcome to submit
