IN THE MAJESTIC CAFÉ

ON DISPLAY NOW:

WOW! A Majestic Summer!

This special gallery exhibit celebrates the creative partnership between Westfield on Weekends (WOW) and The Majestic Theater. Featuring artwork by WOW Center artist‑in‑residence Don Blanton and WOW Center co‑curator and artist/illustrator James Johnson‑Corwin, the show brings together standout pieces selected from past exhibitions at The WOW Center at 105 Elm Street in Westfield’s Downtown Cultural District. WOW! A Majestic Summer!  has been curated to reflect the Majestic Theatre’s spirit of imagination, storytelling, and community.

Don Blanton is a nationally known artist, sculptor, poet, and storyteller whose art reflects a life shaped by time in Hollywood and corporate America, his service as a Vietnam War veteran, and his experience as a cancer survivor. Blanton has coordinated arts programming for area schools and organizations, and has taught at the George Walter Vincent Smith Museum, and at his Springfield studio.

James Johnson‑Corwin is a decade-long board member and co‑curator for the WOW Center, who enjoys helping to mount imaginative exhibitions and events that bring Westfield’s diverse community together. He currently serves as multi-media manager for Reminder Publishing LLC and has worked for publications, including Valley Advocate and Union News and Boston’s Lollipop Magazine.

Founded in 2003, Westfield on Weekends (WOW) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit that producers Westfield traditions like PumpkinFest and DecemberFest, while offering year-round concerts, classes, lectures, children’s events and Bingo at the WOW Center.
