TWO by TWO

by Steve Henderson

"We're kicking off this Summer at the Majestic with two wonderful productions [in one]. They're a couple of one-act plays by the guy who brought you Jerry Atric and Jerry & Ed."

- Danny Eaton, Producing Director

MORSE CODE

Anyone who has a sibling will love this award-winning play about two brothers in crisis. As Nick Morse covers his room, and himself, with dots while spouting a rambling soliloquy, he is interrupted by his brother Chris, who seems to have stopped by to shoot some hoops. Teasing, challenging, fighting, and caring as only two people who have grown up together can, the Morse brothers hilariously unravel a gut-wrenching tale.

THE GRAVEDIGGER'S GIFT

They're the side-splitting and heartwarming gravediggers from Hamlet! These two lovable clowns, now father and son, meet late one night at the graveyard, each with a purpose known only to himself. As their tale unfolds, they keep us in stiches with stories about digging graves, hanging out with William Shakespeare, getting arrested, and in the end, taking care of family.

Scaramouche is a 100-year-old circus clown ("50 years to make the clown, 50 years to play the clown"). The play is told on the evening of his death, taking the audience on "an odyssey of crumbling empires and comic misadventures that span the globe and the entire 20th century."

Unplugged

Inspired from the Musical Tale by Sergei Prokofiev

Adapted by playwright Anton Dudley

When Peter is left alone with the magic conductor's baton, the instruments come to life! We meet all the animals of the forest, along with the Three Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. IMPROV at the MAJESTIC

We've assembled a troupe of the best improvisational actors from across the Pioneer Valley to bring forth Wednesday nights of unscripted comic mayhem. Each evening begins with improv scenes similar to those played on Whose Line Is It Anyway?. That's followed by a storyline developed (with help from the audience!) right on the spot, and that "story" then carries through and is further enhanced the following week. Improv Wednesday at the Majestic will be a unique evening of comedy you won't find anywhere else - and you help make it!
