Jack Neary’s “THE PORCH” is a homespun comedy of five life-long neighborhood friends; Leo
and Gert, Marjorie and Pat, and Alma. The play takes place on the front porch of Alma’s house as
she gets ready for her Labor Day extended family party. The friends are lending a hand because
this is the first year since Alma’s husband died five years ago that she has revived the annual party.
It is a very funny and warm play that will draw you into the lives of these characters who still enjoy
each other’s friendship but at the same time drive one another crazy. “THE PORCH” has been
hailed as “everything theatre should be – endearing, drop-dead funny, heartbreaking, and in the
end triumphant.”

“PIECEMEAL” written by Howard Odentz,Piecemeal is the imaginative, dark, and very funny spin on Mary
Shelley’s classic novel by re-telling the strange events that lead to the creation of Frankenstein’s monster. Igor, the hunchbacked undertaker’s son, yearns to be a doctor. By chance he meets the
young Victor Frankenstein, who is destined to follow in his family’s medical footstep, but whose heart is set instead on a fashion career. He and Igor swap identities. Victor heads off to France to pursue his passion while Igor takes his new name and Victor’s pre-paid admission papers to the University. There he becomes the prized pupil of Professor Krempe, who’s been secretly working on reanimation. Add in a love triangle with Victor’s betrothed, the beautiful Elizabeth Lavenza, and you have “PIECEMEAL,” a great new musical just in time for Halloween.

John Cariani’s play “ALMOST, MAINE” has been described as an “enchanting mid-winter night’s
dream,” and become one of the most popular shows in regional theaters across the country.
The story takes place under the Northern Lights on a cold and clear night in the mythical town of
Almost. It got its name because it’s, “not an actual town” as one of the locals explains, “since
we only almost got around to gettin’ organized.” But the residents there do fall in and out of love
in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees get bruised. Hearts get broken. But the bruises heal,
and the hearts mend in this magical play. “ALMOST, MAINE” aims for the heart by way of the
funny bone – and hits ‘em both!

“A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS” is Robert Bolt’s dramatization of the historic confrontation between
Sir Thomas More and King Henry VIII. Thomas More was a brilliant nobleman, lawyer, humanist,
and author. And, he was the long time friend and favorite of the King. But he was also a staunch
Catholic. When Henry created the Church of England with himself “by the Grace of God” as its
head, he also declared that the Pope was nothing more than a Bishop of Rome. At the center of
the controversy was Henry’s marriage to Catherine of Aragon, who had been his late brother’s wife
but more importantly had also failed to provide Henry with an heir. More’s conscience would not
allow him to recognize the legitimacy of Henry’s divorce from Catherine and the marriage to Anne
Boleyn. “A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS” is the compelling portrait of a man who would face death
for his convictions, a man described as “the person of the greatest virtue” England ever produced.

“THE FANTASTICKS” by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt has the distinction of being the world’s
longest running musical. The original production, which opened on May 3, 1960 at New York’s
Sullivan Street Playhouse ran for 42 years! Every performance opened with the show’s signature
song, “Try To Remember.” The story is a simple one, two fathers pretend to feud, agree to put up
a wall between their houses, and forbid their children, Matt and Luisa, to see one another. The wall,
they reason, will ensure that their children will indeed fall in love if for no other reason than that
children will always do the opposite of what their parents bid. “THE FANTASTICKS” is a breezy,
funny, and heart warming play for the entire family. Fantasticks
