Beauty and the Beast
Adapted by Charles Way

Adapted from the famous French fairy tale by Charles Way is the story of Belle, the timid daughter of merchant George Godwin, who has found himself, after being thrown by his horse, in a strange castle where he is told that he can have anything he wants but warned not to pick any of the roses. George, who had promised Belle a rose upon his return, disobeys and suddenly a great Beast appears. In exchange to save her father’s life, Belle comes to the castle, and in a tearful moment a spell is broken and the Beast is transformed into a handsome Prince.


Slim & Miss Prim

Rustlers make off with a herd of cows and the cowboy Slim. They’ve taken more on than they bargained for because the cows belong to Miss Marigold Prim who’s determined to save them and to save her shy cowhand as well. The Old West frolics and sings in Robert Kinerk’s adaptation, Slim and Miss Prim, from his prize-winning children’s book of the same name. Tom Knightlee has set the comic tale to music, and kids of all ages can cheer the action to its happy conclusion in the Majestic Theater’s debut production.


The Prince & the Pauper

JULY 20, 21, 22 & AUGUST 9, 10, 11, 12
This is Mark Twain’s story of two young boys who just happen to look alike. But, one is Prince Edward (the future King of England) and the other, Tom Canty, is a street urchin and beggar. The two boys meet and on a lark decide to swap identities and that’s when the excitement begins. Verna Safran adapted the story for the stage and Broadway composer George Fischoff wrote the music.
