Comedy

November 10 - December 18, 2011

Greater Tuna by Jaston Williams,

From the panhandle paradise of Tuna, which just happens to be the third smallest town in Texas, comes the outrageously funny and inventive Greater Tuna. Arles Struvie and Thurston Wheelis, the disc jockeys at reactionary Radio Station OKKK, not only deliver the news and farm reports, but introduce us to some twenty other denizens of the town, like Petey Fisk, for example, from the Humane Society; Vera Carp the town snob; UFOlogist R. R. Snavely; and others, to name a few. Greater Tuna is a tour de force for two actors and a side-splitting hit perfect for the Majestic stage.

Romantic Comedy

January 5 - February 12, 2012

The Island Lily by Danny

The fishing's been okay but business has been slow for charter captain Tig Dillon, and he's in debt. And business has also been slow for Junie, Tig's girlfriend and the owner of the Island Lily Marina where he slips his boat. A trendy new marina has opened nearby, owned by real estate developer Ronnie Rondeau and his trophy wife BobbieAnn, who are determined to become the only sharks in those waters. Then there's the Kid, a wannabe boat captain, and all he wants to do is fish. Set on the docks of the marina, The Island Lily is a warmhearted play about love, Fruit of the Loom underwear, and "landing the big one that almost got away!"

Drama

February 23 - April 1, 2012

Long Day's Journey Into Night

One could safely make the argument that there wouldn't be legitimate theater in America were it not for Eugene O'Neill. Long Day's Journey Into Night, which won both the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, is his masterwork - an autobiographical work and one of the greatest plays this country has produced. The action covers one heart-rending day in the late summer of 1912 at the family's seaside Connecticut home. For the Majestic production, noted film and television actor Ken Tigar (The Gin Game, Death of a Salesman, The Sunshine Boys) returns to our stage as James Tyrone, the patriarch of the family. If you love great theater, Long Day's Journey Into Night will be a show you won't want to miss.

Comedic Mystery

April 12 - May 20, 2012

The 39 Steps adapted by

Based on the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hithccock, The 39 Steps is a Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning show that recently closed following a smash-hit run in New York, and productions will soon be popping up all over the country. The play is inspired by those classic films from the 1940s with a dash of juicy spy novel and vintage Monty Python mixed in. It's a fast-paced whodunit packed with nonstop laughs and over 150 characters played by four extraordinary actors.
